Apple renames its WWDC app to Apple Developer app, adds new features

Apple has officially announced that its WWDC app is now the Apple Developer app. Apple has also added a few new features while keeping the older ones as well.

The app offers you in-depth information from Apple experts all year around. It also provides you latest developer news, informative videos, WWDC content, and more. Talking about the new features, the Apple Developer app now lets the developers in the US to enroll in the Apple Developer Program directly within the app. Apple mentions the new feature will be coming to more territories soon. Other new features include a Discover tab, enhanced Search UI, and Dark Mode support.

  • Other enhancements and bug fixes

Apple conducts its Worldwide Developers Conference every year to announce new products and services around its new software versions. It introduces new software versions of its respective platforms to the software developers and makes them ready to produce content around them.

The WWDC app which is now Apple Developers app allows developers to watch live and recorded videos of its WWDC every year. The app also allows navigating around while attending the conference live.

It is unknown what made Apple change the name of one of its crucial apps but it is believed that the inclusion of other types of content to this app has prompted Apple to rename it.

Like every year, this year as well, Apple at WWDC 2019 took the wraps off of its new operating systems that included iOS 13, macOS Catalina, watchOS 6, tvOS 13, iPadOS, third-generation Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR.
