Apple is reportedly working on the Apple Watch Series 5 Product (RED) edition smartwatch. The report is coming from WatchGeneration, a French publication, claiming that it spotted the listing of the upcoming variant in the Apple database. It said that the listing was visible for a short period of time and was taken down later.
The report accompanies a couple of mock-up renders showing what the Apple Watch Product (RED) might look like. The overall design of the watch is the same as the standard Apple Watch Series 5 which was expected. It is the color shade where it differs from other models as it has a Red-ish hue on the dial.
Apple has been releasing Red-colored products in collaboration with PRODUCT (RED), a charity dedicated to spreading awareness and raising funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries. It has launched iPhones, iPods, watch straps, and various accessories so far but no Apple Watch variant. It means if the rumor turns out to be true, it will be the first such release from Apple.
As for the release timeline, Apple Watch Product (RED) is expected to get official during spring as it is the time Apple has released previous such products. It is further speculated that pricing will be the same as standard offerings but all of these are only rumors. This is the reason we would suggest not to get excited yet.
