If you might recall, Apple was rumored to announce AR-powered Apple Glasses sometime in 2020 but as you can see, there are no signs of that happening The reason behind no official signs could be the new report claiming that Apple Glasses are now set for a 2022 release at the earliest. The report is based on the latest research notes shared by renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
It is speculated that Apple Glasses will be similar to the Oculus Quest in terms of appearance. However, it will be made using lightweight materials so that users can wear them for a longer period of time without feeling discomfort. They will support voice activation, head gestures, and touch panels for interaction purposes. The underlying operating system is said to be a completely new one that will be called rOS aka reality OS.
Kuo has further added that Apple is also working on two new iPad models for a 2020/21 release. These include a new 10.8-inch iPad and an 8.5-inch to 9-inch iPad Mini. The former is said to get a release late this year and the latter will arrive sometime during early 2021. Nevertheless, it is interesting to see Apple increasing the size of the iPad that is supposed to be "mini".
It has been more than a year since we saw the last iPad Mini refresh which was the fifth generation device. It comes with a 7.9-inch display and is powered by Apple's A12 Bionic chipset. We can expect Apple to release the sixth-generation model with an even newer processor for faster and better performance.
