Apple has reportedly registered new iPads and Apple Watches in Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filing. There are new identifiers found inside the filings that reflect Apple has some new iPads and Apple Watches in the pipeline. These filings are first uncovered by Consomac, a French website but there are no other details attached to these filings.
As apparent from the screenshot shared by the tech publication, the iPads bear the model numbers A2270, A2072, A2316, A2324, A2325, A2428, and A2429, and they all run iPadOS 14.
Furthermore, there are some listings of other model numbers as well that suggest Apple is also prepping up to launch new Apple Watches. As further decoded by 9to5Mac, amidst the refreshed listings of Series 3 and Series 5 running watchOS 7, there are fresh listings of new Apple Watch models as well. These are - A2291, A2292, A2351, A2352, A2375, A2376, A2355, and A2356.
These filings perhaps suggest no other details and nor do we have any existing information on them yet, but we can expect a few new features to land this time, including sensors to measure blood oxygen. In March, 9to5Mac found the first evidence of blood oxygen hardware in a leaked build of watchOS 7, suggesting the feature is incoming.
There are speculations that Apple could launch a new Apple Watch and iPad (8th Gen) during the week of September 7th. So, it is possible that we may see them coming during the said timeframe. It is rumored that the announcement could be made via just a press release as no special event is planned. If this is the case then we are not too far away from the launch of the two huge announcements.
Such certifications are required for the new hardware launching in the countries. Here, in this case, Apple is required to report the hardware it is using for encryption technology in the Eurasian database. Such filings are one of the last steps in the process of development of a product before their respective launches and manufacturers usually file them a month or so ahead of the launch.
