Apple releases iCloud Passwords extension for Google Chrome

01 February 2021 0

Apple has released a new Google Chrome extension named iCloud Passwords. It has been released quietly and is meant to act as a password manager for iCloud users. It means with this extension, it will become a lot more convenient for Chrome users to make use of their saved log-in credentials.

The iCloud Passwords extension is available for Chrome on both Windows and Mac. Whenever you will visit and try to sign-in to a website for which you have saved log-in credentials with iCloud Keychain, the extension will automatically offer those details. You will be able to enter the information with just one click. It is not only a lot faster than remembering and typing the whole password but is also a lot more convenient. It will work this way on both the desktop operating systems.

The good thing is that the extension also works the other way around. It means if you are registering for a new website and are using the iCloud suggested password, it will get saved and synced with all other devices. The supported devices also include the ones from the iOS family i.e. iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It is also a one-click process that should work smoothly.

If interested, you can download the iCloud Passwords extension for free from the Chrome Web Store. You will only need to sign-in using your iCloud account details and you should be good to go.
