We’ve had heard enough rumors on Apple will use OLED displays for its 2022 iPad models. But if the latest report is to be believed, this biggest change might not happen next year. As per Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), this will rather happen in 2023, which means we have to wait a little more. Well, of course, nothing is substantial yet, so we can’t bet on either of the two reports. But, this looks like an eventual plan, even if it is not happening earlier.
The report, however, doesn’t mention the name of the tablet that will debut with OLED panels. It just refers to a 10.9-inch AMOLED model expected to be released in 2023.
Apple’s entry into the OLED tablet market in 2023 is expected to boost the tablet market. The report expects the number of tablets shipping with an OLED display will rise each year over the next five years.
The report also states that when Apple will enter 2023 year with its OLED tablet, the overall tablet market will grow to over $1 billion in 2024. The overall adoption of OLED will increase between 2022 and 2025 by 40 percent for tablets, 13 percent for notebooks/laptops, and 238 percent for monitors.
The report also reiterates previous reports that Apple will remove the Touch Bar from its future MacBook Pro models.
