We’ve had heard enough reports backing up theories like iPad mini will come with miniLED. In fact, a very fresh report from DigiTimes stated something similar. But Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants has strictly denied the reports and specifically mentioned: “DigiTimes story was not correct.”
No miniLED iPad Mini this year. Digitimes story was not correct.— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) July 23, 2021
Young, a well-known figure in the tech research industry shares stats of the upcoming display trends and also frequently tips on the upcoming products. He has been serving as a trusted source, so we would like to follow his latest tips.
Well moving on, in a reply to a user over his tweet, he also said that the supposed miniLED supplier for the iPad mini has confirmed to him that such a model with miniLED does not exist. In the same thread, Young also affirmed that the miniLEDs should be for Apple’s high-end products which the iPad mini is not. Well, several tech enthusiasts anticipated these past reports as too good to be true. It is great to see that now a top analyst is backing this fact as well.
Past reports have speculated the specifications of the said iPad model. It is expected the upcoming model is going to be called as iPad mini 6. A recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated that iPad Mini 6 will feature the “biggest redesign in the nine-year history.” It is also expected the iPad mini 6 will support a new Apple Pencil as well. Furthermore, the Lightning connector is also said to be swapped out in favor of USB-C. It is rumored to be coming with Apple A14 processor as well.
