Apple usually hosts a single event in September to announce new hardware products but at times, it also decides to have dedicated launch events for certain products. The latter is expected to happen this year as well. A new report from Naver claims that Apple is set to announce new iPad models at a separate launch event in October.
It mentions Apple's September event will mainly focus on the new iPhone 14 lineup. The iPad launch event will take place a month later. This is in line with a previous report that claimed iPadOS 16 release may get delayed by a month. It would make sense for the Cupertino-based tech giant to announce new iPad hardware and software at the same time.
There will be two different iPad models that will get official at the event. The first one will be a 10th generation iPad and the latest affordable model. It is said to have a slightly thinner new design as compared to previous offerings. There will be flat bezels and a protruding rear camera sensor. However, the display size is said to be bigger than its predecessors. The choice of processor will be Apple's A14 Bionic along with 5G connectivity support. There will not be a 3.5mm headphone jack but more interestingly, it is said to have a USB Type-C port instead of the lightning jack.
The second model will be an iPad Pro variant powered by an M2 chipset. The details about this powerful iPad model are currently unknown for the majority of the part. Some speculations suggest it may have a 14-inch display and 16GB of RAM. These rumored specs appear to be too good to be true. We would suggest you wait for the time being until there is some more clarity.
