Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known market research analyst, has shared new details about Apple's plans for future iPad modes. He has claimed there will not be a new iPad model launching this year. He is expecting no new iPad release in the next 9 to 12 months. The new product catalog will include an iPad mini as well as a foldable iPad.
The first iPad model that will launch next is said to be an iPad mini refresh. It was first expected to launch by the end of this year but is now said to be delayed until Q1 2024. If we talk about the year 2023, iPad shipments are predicted to decline by 10-15% YoY due to no release planned for the year.
However, the most interesting part of the leak is the foldable iPad set for launch in 2024. It will be the first foldable product from the company and is expected to be followed by a foldable iPhone. The foldable iPad is said to come with a carbon fiber kickstand that will give users even more flexibility when it comes to using the tablet in different ways. Anjie Technology is said to be the primary supplier providing carbon fiber for the foldable iPad.
In other rumors, Apple is also said to have plans to release an iPad that doubles up as a smart display. It will come with smart home functionalities and work similarly to an Amazon Echo Show or Google Nest Hub. Even the digital assistant Siri is said to come with advancements that would make it smarter than what we get on iPhone and iPad. These smart display offerings will come in various form factors and target different price points.
