Today an alegged iPhone 8 schematics pops up online which seems to be first technical schematics of upcoming Apple's flagship. The schematic images appear on Weibo and according to the tipster, the images are from Foxconn. The schematic drawing shows that the upcoming iPhone bezels are pretty minimal from all four sides as opposed to last year device.
Surprisingly the dual rear camera setup is placed vertically this time on the top right side. Another significant change is the Apple Touch ID sensor is also placed on the rear side in the center below the company's logo. The overall dimensions of the chassis are near to the 4.7-inches variant, however, the display on the device seems a larger panel.
Before taking these schematics too seriously, it is important to mention that these images seem to be third revision of EVT (Engineering Validation Test). As most of you are already aware that EVT is the initial stage of new iPhone development and the design is yet to pass design and production validation test before it is approved for the development.
That's why it is still in the dark which design will be finalized by Apple for the production. In past few weeks, we heard a lot about Touch ID button and from looks of things, it seems like the company is testing a number of prototypes and today's prototype shown Touch ID on the rear side.
This schematic also confirms what KGI Securities Kuo stated that the iPhone 8 base variant overall dimensions will be similar to the 4.7-inch variant of iPhone 7 but the display will be 5.8-inches OLED. Apple will be taking the space by trimming down the bezels from all four sides.
These schematics shows that iPhone 8 dimensions will be 149mm x 72.5mm x 8.16mm. As Opposed to that the iPhone 7 dimensions are 138mm x 67.1mm x 7.1mm. The table on the left seems to be of iPhone 8 Plus whereas the right corner seems to be of standard iPhone 8. This is not the first time, we are seeing schematics of upcoming iPhone. From the last couple of years, we have iPhone 6 and 7 design schematics were leaked in March.
This year, Apple is expected to unveil three variants of iPhone 8. The two variants will be the successor of standard iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus but the third variant will be a premium Pro variant which will be unveiled at a special 10th-anniversary event.
