Cupertino tech giant Apple is performing great at attracting Android users that look forward to switching to another smartphone, which was suggested by a report carried out by Consumer Intelligence Research for the months April, May, and June more than ever before during last 12 months.
That comes in as a great news for Apple where iPhone was able to become an attraction for Android users. Studies suggest that about 14% to 17% of Android owners account for iPhone buyers which could possibly be due to fast upgrades on latest iOS software updates. If the trend continues here on, it would be highly beneficial for upcoming iPhone models and the company in general.
Current as per the CIRP reports, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus account for about 81% iPhones sales that take place in the United States in a quarter, where 47% goes to the standard iPhone 7 while 34% for the bigger Plus variant.
CIRP Partner and Co-founder Josh Lowitz mentioned in a statement saying:
“The newest iPhone models, 7 and 7 Plus, accounted for a much higher share of total iPhone sales in this quarter than the March 2017 quarter,” and also “Sales of legacy models appear to have finally diminished, after showing sustained strength in recent quarters. In the year ago June 2016 quarter, legacy models accounted for 34% of iPhones sold, compared to 19% in this quarter.”
The rise in the sales could possibly be due to the discounts offered by the mobile carriers in wake of the launch of the upcoming iPhone model where customers are allowed to trade in their old models.
