The best thing is Apple will be hosting this event at their new Steve Jobs Theater at 10 AM PT. This could be one of the best events from Apple as the company will celebrate their iPhones 10th anniversary today. The Apple Ceo Tim Cook won't have to reveal much details as most of the details are already known ahead of the event.
It's not surprising at all to see details regarding Apple event, the new products which are expected to be unveiled today are in rumors and leaks from last few months. Recently we have a code leak which gives authentic info regarding names of three new iPhones expected today. The iterative variants will be announced as iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus whereas the special edition 10th anniversary iPhone will be unveiled as iPhone X.
Those who are aware Apple never unveil a single product at their events but instead they took the stage to showcase a number of new products, we are expecting a surprise as well which isn't leaked so far. The event Keynote will kick off on September 12 at 10 am PST which is 1 PM EST and 6 PM BST. It will be live streamed via Apple website as well as Apple TV users can watch it via Apple Events app. It will be 2 hours long event. If you own Apple iPhone your device should be at least on iOS 7.0 or newer to stream this event. The Mac users OS X version should be on 10.8.5 or latest version. Starting with the most obvious product, the new iPhones. Most of the details regarding the upcoming iPhones are already known, the company just need to wrap off the cover from almost all announced smartphone. This year Apple will be announcing three new phones including iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be successor variants of last year's devices. The X variant will be a special edition variant which Apple will be releasing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of iPhones, we are expecting it will be near perfect flagship with everything you can expect from a smartphone above $1000.
There will be a special color variant of iPhone X which is expected to be announced as "Blush Gold". It could be similar to the copper variant of Nokia 8. The iPhone X base variant is rumored to cost around $1000 whereas the top of the line variant to cost around $1200. If this info is accurate, the iPhone X will be the company's most expensive iPhone.
One of the reasons behind this hike in price is the inclusion of OLED display panel which will be bringing all perks which users miss oN traditional LCD panel. We also heard Apple is paying $125 per panel to Samsung. Due to the shortage of OLED panels, we heard rumors of the late release of special edition variant as opposed to iPhone 8 lineup.
The iPhone X not only will have OLED display but also it will be the company's first bezel-less smartphone which will have better aspect ratio. The only notable notch will be on the top edge including earphone and front facing camera sensor. This year dual rear cameras will be placed vertically on the top left corner.
As OS the iPhone X will have iOS 11. The device will be capable to shoot 4K videos at 60 frames per second. Apple's own Hexa-core A11X Fusion chipset will be running the device with 3GB RAM. It features all front facing display with minimal bezels that's why it doesn't have the physical home button. The iPhone X owners will have to rely on Facial recognition Aka Face ID to unlock the device. Being the iterative variants the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are expected to have somewhat similar design like predecessors but both the devices will have the latest hardware under the hood.
The upcoming Apple TV name tells the whole story. It gives us info regarding what will be the key feature of next gen Apple TV. The new TV will have Apple A10X SoC under the hood with 3GB RAM. For those who are unaware Apple used similar chipset for their iPad Pro lineup. The 4K indicates the TV will support 4K content, Not just that we can expect 4K content will be soon available on iTunes store. Apple TV is considered as a key component in the company's connected home play, we can expect Apple will include few more features to their Home kit. Chances of unveiling new Apple TV 4K are quite fair as it could be company's new offering during the holiday season later.
Like always, whenever a new iPhone announced Apple release the new version of iOS alongside it, same is the case this year as well. Apple's upcoming iOS version will be announced as iOS 11 alongside the latest iPhone devices, the OS version is in public beta for quite some time. For sure Apple CEO will confirm the final build of iOS 11 will be released later in September.
Most of the details regarding the Apple Watch Series 3 are in dark. One thing which is almost confirmed is the existence of an LTE model. Although Apple won't be the first company to offer this feature on a smartwatch surely it could be the company's first smartwatch to have this feature. Apple could further strengthen their position in the smartwatch market by unveiling an LTE supported watch otherwise smartwatch market is lackluster at the moment.
Having an LTE watch could allow it, owners, to get the benefit of Apple mobile payment and music streaming services without the phone. The new Watch series could also lower the price tag of existing Apple Watch 2 variants.
Apple introduced AirPods when they ditched the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack from their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The original AirPods are now eligible to get some cosmetic changes. From what we heard so far Apple could be bringing new AirPods with few cosmetic changes and also the LED charging bar. However major changes will be obviously under the hood. We are expecting Apple will enhance its battery life.
Back in June Apple announced an ARKit to further enhance the AR capabilities on iOS. In August, we reported Apple spends almost $3 Billion on AR R&D, this shows the company's keen interest in the AR. We are expecting AR demos from big giants as well as small developers at the event. The company could also announce their first AR headset. However, it is too early to expect it. We will recommend to take it with a grain of salt. Most likely the company will be showcasing their progress in the AR.
At the end, we would like to hear our readers thoughts regarding the Apple's 12th Sep event in the comments section below.
