Apple launched AirPods alongside iPhone 7 last year. The company has today announced a new optional charging case for its wireless earbuds providing support for wireless charging.
The AirPods Case looks more or less the same as the existing AirPods Case in market with the only difference being that of a charging indicator light. The light indicator is located on the outside of the case instead of the inside so that it becomes easy for you to check the status of the battery without any need of opening the case. The current generation AirPods case also had a light indicator but it is located inside the case. It blinks orange when it is being charged and turns solid green when done. It looks like this:
Apple's new AirPods Case will work with the company's upcoming "AirPower" wireless charging mat. It can charge up to three devices simultaneously which include the AirPods, the Apple Watch Series 3, and the iPhone X or iPhone 8/Plus.
The accessory is expected to launch in 2018, however how much it will cost when it launches next year is still not known.
