Apple iPhone 8 Plus vs iPhone 7 Plus speed test comparison

22 September 2017 2

Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus reviews are popping up from the users who managed to an early hands on them. The iPhone 8 series comes with a new processor which is stated as faster than before. To be precise, Apple at the time of unveiling the new iPhones announced that the new A11 Bionic processor brings 30% performance boost and provides 50% more juice. So, this new beast puts the new series in front of some of the new flagship smartphones from the other ecosystem. However, such a strong performance claim also puts them in competition with their own family members and what could be better than the predecessor.

Well, there has never been any complaints related to performance from iPhones as Apple is quite good at optimizing overall things. But, new hardware brings new expectations and hence the new tests.

So, one such test has come up on YouTube by MadMatt, who puts iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus against each other. The two devices undergo a speed test and the result is a bit of surprise as the iPhone 8 Plus isn’t showing any drastic change in the speed in opening up some regular and third-party apps, though the iPhone 8 Plus did boot up faster than its predecessor.

It’s iPhone 7 Plus sometimes, which is beating its successor many times in the speed test video. Also, there’s not much difference to tell at many instances, for instance, while opening apps like Maps, Weather, Camera, browser Safari, both the devices showed similar results.

iPhone 8 Plus did take some lead, otherwise, it’s pretty neck to neck. You can watch this speed test video between the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus and decide.

I thought this speed test will give the new iPhone a sufficient margin for breathing space. But looks like the older iPhone 7 Plus still made life difficult for the iiPhone 8 +.
