iPhone 8 vs iPhone 8 Plus vs iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus boot speed test

29 September 2017 4

The latest iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by the all-new A11 Bionic processor which includes dedicated neural processing unit. Apple is claiming performance boost on the new models as compared to their predecessors iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus which are powered by A10 Fusion chipset. Now, here is a video showing the boot speed test comparison among all these models to see what is the difference when it comes to booting up.

This is short video from iClarified which shows all these four iPhone models which are said to be running cleanly restored iOS 11.0.1 and set to same configurations. All of them were started at the same time and as you would expect, the iPhone 8 Plus came out to be the fastest to boot as it took 11.292 seconds. It was followed by the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus with boot time recorded as 11.958, 15.292, and 16.292 seconds respectively.

If we talk about the comparison, the iPhone 8 Plus boot time was 44% faster than the iPhone 7 Plus. As for the iPhone 8, it was 28% faster than the iPhone 7. This shows that the new A11 Bionic processor has indeed made the new iPhone models faster than the old generation iPhones.
