Apple announced its Watch Series 3 with watchOS 4 last month which implemented cellular network support that was projected to be charged $10 per month by several carriers. The Apple Watch Series 2, on the other hand, is no longer available on Apple’s official website but the last generation Apple Watch is going up for sale on Best Buy for as low as $269 which could be the one accessory to go with the newest line of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices.
The Watch Series 2 can now be purchased at a discount of up to $170 which is available on several variants of the older Apple Watch. Best Buy offers similar discounts on 38mm and 42mm models of the Apple Watch Series 2 including the expensive Stainless Steel models as well as the Nike+ variants.
On its debut, the Watch Series 2 featured built-in GPS to track pace, distance, and route, so users can run without an iPhone. Flaunting one of the brightest displays on a smartwatch, the metrics on the Apple Watch Series 2 are easy to read, no matter the sun’s glare, and if users decide to take a quick dive in the pool, the device is water resistant up to 50 meters, for swimming. Apple claims as much as 18 hours of battery life when paired with an iPhone which is definitely worthy of being bought for the price it is available for.
The Watch Series 2 is made of aluminum and offers beauty and strength by still housing the 2nd-gen SiP (System in Package) which is a dual-core processor. The processor is accompanied by a new GPU that delivers 2X graphics performance. The only downside to buying the device would be giving up on hopes to connect to an LTE network, which the Watch Series 3 could do, though being way too expensive currently.
