05 December 2017 5

Facebook-owned chat messaging app WhatsApp has been updated to 0.2.7304 that brings in considerable changes to the web version of the app. It’s been after a long time that WhatsApp web version got updated where last time it got an ability to let the users change the background color of the chat window just like how it was available for mobile devices.

In addition to this, another addon is the availability of the new emoji set that got updated in Android and Windows phone while the users on iOS still have the previous set of Emojis which hasn’t been updated as of yet.

Likewise, WhatsApp now also makes it easier for the customers to recognize the official brand numbers by marking them as verified with a grey check mark just like how we see the verified Facebook pages. The company mentions that there is three type of verifications status that includes verified, business and confirmed. Confirmed showcases that WhatsApp confirms that the business number is the same as the official phone number for that business which is signified by a grey checkmark.

While the business account means that the business is utilizing WhatsApp business app though they haven’t confirmed not WhatsApp has verified their contact number which is shown by a grey question mark. Likewise, the verified status is showcased with a green checkmark showing that the business number of WhatsApp is authenticated to be of that particular brand by WhatsApp. To utilize the latest version of the WhatsApp for the web, you could clear your WhatsApp browser cache.
