WeChat that is immensely popular in the east and dominantly in China is more than an instant chat application and offers a social platform too. For some, it’s also means of payment and serves as a competitor of Facebook in the east. The company is working hard to compete with WhatsApp in other parts of the world and is looking forward to penetrating in Europe and western regions around the globe.
Likewise, the application that is developed by Tencent wants to attract a major portion of Germany to offer a payment service of its own. It could take time for the service to get implemented in Germany as the country’s financial supervisory authority has laid down strict specifications in this regard, though the company is chasing it to get fulfilled fast.
What could be the biggest hurdle for people to adopt the application is its reputation knowing how much it knows about its users considering the vast majority of reasons people use it for, and thus is prone to be directly monitored by governments leaving no secret behind. Would you be comfortable using a platform that knows your life inside out ranging from financial transactions, social life and more? Share your views in the comment section below.
