Instagram testing new profile layout design

05 November 2018 5

Fast growing social media platform Instagram continues to bring improvements and visual upgrades to the platform to make it a better place for the content creators, influencers and for the everyday user. With the introduction of the AI filters and the recently rolled out security features, Instagram is pacing fast towards becoming a strong platform over its rivals like Snapchat which has seen a major drop of active users lately.

In the recent happenings, Instagram seems to be testing out a new UI layout for the profile which is somehow seen on the web version of the app in different parts of the world. The changes don’t overhaul the profile layout, though makes quite noticeable changes to the upper portion of the profile changes positions of the profile image, name, and other elements.

Not that these changes would be final, we could expect something different as well once the final version of this is out. Notice how the profile picture is moved towards the right with name and description much more visible and bigger than before stays on the left. Instagram hasn’t really changed the profile layout much and this move seems to be refreshing. What do you think about these changes as shown in the images?
