Amazon Music app makes Alexa summoning hands free using wake up keyword

11 December 2018 2

Amazon Music app integrated Alexa AI assistant into almost a year ago to equip its music streaming app a clear edge over the competitors and now in the latest development, the app is getting completely hands free. This means that the users won’t have to activate Alexa through a button to make it listen to the commands to carry on a particular task like opening an app.

Now simply saying the wake keyword i.e ‘Alexa’ would make it listen to your commands while you’re in the Amazon Music app on both Android or iOS platforms. This means you could ask Alexa for a song without even knowing its name. Instead, you could simply say few lyrics to it and it would search for that song.

Likewise, you could ask for playlists, genres or themes. This would work through the phone or even when the headphones are on. To get this feature, you need to update your Amazon Alexa app in case you haven't’ done it yet and begin using the new hand's free feature right on. If you’re new to the idea of Amazon Alexa, its one of the biggest music streaming service available online with thousands of tracks that you could listen while having the Prime subscription.

The ability of the AI assistant to search a song even if we don't know the lyrics is awesome. It does happen that we tend to forget the starting lines of a song and can't search through.
