Third-party audio streaming support comes to Waze audio player on Android

19 February 2019 2

Popular navigation, map service Waze has its very own audio player functionality built right into it offering the ability to listen to favorite music, podcasts, news etc while navigating through your favorite routes. The company previously announced the ability to stream podcasts, stream music, listen to audiobooks, radio, news etc though the service wasn’t live yet until now. Earlier, Waze partnered with 8 third-party services like Pandora, iHeartRadio, Scribd, NPR One, Deezer, Spotify, TuneIn, and Sticher.

Though these services aren’t available everywhere around the globe, though it does act as a unified place to consume your favorite source of content in the countries where they are available. The feature was available through Deezer app (music and podcast player for iOS devices) before on iOS though it wasn’t available on Android devices, so for those users, it offers a very good alternative.

A way to connect your favorite audio source app is to first have it installed on your Android device. Like if you want to listen to Pandora, get that installed on your Android phone and then tap the ‘audio app’ icon in Wave Audio player and select connect.
