Instagram may be bringing the video seekbar option finally to the video posts. Well, at least it’s alleged that the feature is under testing. The 24-year-old Jane Manchun Wong who discovers uncovered and unreleased features in apps has shared this tip via her Twitter account. She has shared a test video as well that shows one can fast forward or seek a video posted on Instagram.
Well, this is a long-awaited and the most wanted feature definitely. No matter how big or even small the video, one has no choice but to watch it even if they only want to see a part of it which is somewhere in the middle of the video.
Take for instance, you watched a video, liked it but you forgot to take the notice of the credentials of the video. Now, to see the name of the featured person or the narrator of that video you have to go through the complete video as you can’t forward and jump to what you want to see. Another common example is, after watching a video full of hacks, you may want to watch your favorite DIY/hack again but for this, you would need to go through the complete video once again. This happens with almost everyone but still, such a much-needed feature hasn’t yet arrived for the users. But looking at this tip, we believe the day isn’t too far when you’ll be able to fast forward any posted video.

Currently, the video seekbar or the forward option is only available on Instagram’s IGTV, where you can easily jump to your favorite scene or whatsoever instantly.
Another Twitterati named Jimmy Beck, Digital & Social Media Supervisor @Arbys shared in the comments that this feature was also stumbled upon last year in January. Take a look -
Stumbled across the fact that you can now fast forward & rewind Instagram videos last night. Simply press & hold on the screen then move your finger. Don’t think this has been out long. #Social pic.twitter.com/r60IhF2IT2— Jimmy Beck (@theJBECK) January 23, 2018
