Asus at Computex 2018 event has launched the ROG gaming phone alongside its new lineup of gaming products. Asus’ ROG gaming smartphone is touted to the world’s first smartphone with a 3D vapor-chamber cooling system. The handset is purely designed for the gamers with specific features like the gamer-centric design with side-mounted ports optimized for landscape-mode, ultrasonic AirTrigger touch sensors, and more.
The Asus ROG smartphone has an AMOLED display with HDR visuals, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.96GHz and Adreno 630 GPU. Don McGuire, Vice President says that the company has specifically re-architected Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with the gaming-optimized Adreno 630 GPU for speed. The company states, that this configuration also minimizes the thermal throttling and maximizes the battery efficiency so that the users could play for longer hours.
The company claims that the battery is capable of getting to 60 percent of charge in 33 minutes. According to the company's claims, the device offers 7 hours of Wi-Fi gameplay, Another gamers-specific feature is the GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system with detachable AeroActive Cooler for extra cooling.
Alongside the smartphone, the company also announced a new ROG Delta gaming headset that can be connected to the ROG Phone and other smartphones via USB Type-C port. Also, it has a Mobile Desktop Dock for desktop-style gaming and a Gamevice controller with WiGig Dock using 60GHz Wi-Fi for big-screen gaming.

Notably, ROG has also partnered with Garena, developer of survival shooter game Free Fire, for the ROG Phone.
The Asus ROG smartphone will compete directly with Xiaomi BlackShark gaming smartphone that went official recently.
The Asus ROG gaming smartphone will be available in Q3. The price and configuration will be announced at the time of release, according to the company. But, as per the latest leak, the price of the Asus ROG gaming phone is said to be around $875 for the base variant.
