Asus at IFA event in Berlin has launched new ZenBook Flip laptops. The all-new ZenBook 13 and ZenBook Flip 15 are touted as the world’s most compact convertible laptops featuring NanoEdge displays and a footprint 10% smaller than their predecessors. This means they have a 90% screen-to-body ratio for an immersive and distraction-free experience. Both the models have been designed for use with the new Mixed-Reality Viewer, Windows 10 mixed-reality application.
As their names imply, they feature 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch displays, also, they have ultra-narrow bezels for 10% smaller footprint. They come with dual-function NumberPad touchpad with LED numeric keypad. Both the convertibles are powered by 8th-gen Intel Core processors and have ultrafast PCIe SSDs. Additionally, ZenBook Flip 15 uses up to the latest gaming-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q discrete graphics, with up to a PANTONE Validated 4K UHD NanoEdge display.
The ZenBook Flip 15 display has Asus’ Calibration Technology for an easy color calibration. This convertible also has a dual-storage option which means one can enjoy the data speeds of an SSD and the large capacity of a hard disk.
The 360-degree ErgoLift hinge ensures the complete tilt of the device and the dual-action mechanism tilts the keyboard for comfortable typing. The laptop can easily acquire the tablet or the tent mode.
Both the models have world-facing camera which has been designed specifically for use with mixed-reality applications that allow users to interact with 3D virtual objects in the physical world. With the help of this, users will be able to overlay virtual 3D objects on the real world image captured by the camera. They can move them around and then capture the results in a photo. Both the convertibles are also tough, thanks to the MIL-STD-810G standard.
The pricing and availability details haven’t yet disclosed.
