20 September 2018 0

Asus ROG phone was unveiled in June during the Computex 2018. However, the company did not announce the availability or the pricing back then. All of a sudden the phone has been listed on a Chinese e-commerce site, Gearbest suggesting that the phone may start retailing now.

The listing on Gearbest suggests that the phone will start shipping between October 22-24th and is priced at USD 1621.70, however, the official listing on Asus’s site suggests that the orders placed through the official site will be fulfilled starting 19th October.

Talking about the specifications, this powerful gaming smartphone comes with specifically re-architected Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with the gaming-optimized Adreno 630 GPU for speed. It houses a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with HDR compatibility with up to 90Hz refresh rate with 1 ms response time, 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage.

It houses a unique copper heat spreader and 3D vapor-chamber cooling to keep the device cool even during intense gaming sessions. There is a 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual camera setup on the back along with an 8-megapixel front camera. The whole package is powered by a 4000mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, though it is highly likely that the phone may get an Android 9 Pie update by the time it lands in customers hands.
