Asus has finally confirmed that it will be launching the ROG Phone gaming smartphone in the United States on October 18th. The announcement was made via a tweet sent out by the official Twitter account of Asus North America. It accompanied an image showing that the launch event will take place in New York and that more details will be shared in the future.

The Asus ROG Phone was originally debuted at Computex 2018 in June this year. It was later seen on a Chinese e-commerce website GearBest suggesting a sale sometime around October 19th. It seems like the first Asus gaming smartphone will actually go on sale around the globe post the official unveiling in the United States.

There is a 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel dual rear camera setup where the secondary sensor is a 120-degree wide-angle one. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 4000mAh battery and runs ROG UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
