Asus at CES has launched its two new laptops in the ZenBook series with GeForce MX150 graphics and 8th gen Intel Core processors. These are ZenBook S13 and the ZenBook 14 laptops and the former has the world’s thinnest display bezels with 97% screen-to-body ratio.
Talking about the ZenBook S13 first, the laptop features a 13.9-inch FHD frameless four-sided NanoEdge display with just 2.5mm border frame. It has 12.9 thickness and manages to pack a slightly larger display in a smaller footprint than others in this segment. It has a metal chassis which is CNC-milled from a block of aluminum, allowing the lid to be carved out.
It’s powered by the latest 8th-gen Intel processor with options available with Core i7 octa-core and Core i5 quad-core processors and has 16GB RAM and 1TB of PCIe x4 SSD storage. Asus claims the laptop offers 15 hours of battery life with its 50Wh battery capacity.
The laptop also meets the demanding MIL-STD 810G military standards for durability as it has passed some harsh tests including the humidity and temperature. In addition to its standard USB port, ZenBook S13 has two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C ports, with up to 10Gbps of a peak interface bandwidth.
Together with the ZenBook S13, Asus also launched the ZenBook 14 (UX3431) laptop. It features a 14-inch FHD (1920x1080 pixels) IPS NaonEdge display that offers great viewing angles. It manages to pack the latest 8th-gen Intel Core processors and packs 16GB RAM. It weighs just under 1.45kg (3.2 pounds) while managing to cram a 14-inch display into a 13-inch chassis. The thing and light Chassis features Asus’ Utopia Blue color and the spun metal finish that the manufacturer is known for.
The Asus ZenBook S13 (UX392) is expected to launch later in Q1 2019 and the pricing details haven’t been revealed yet. The ZenBook 14 is also expected to be available sometime in Q1 2019 starting at $749.
