At this year CES show, the Taiwanese giant Asus not only unveiled the new ZenBook S13 and ZenBook 14 laptops but also unveiled a new StudioBook S. Like earlier StudioBooks it is ultra sleek laptop with awesome portability. However, the latest StudioBook S is only light, portable but also packed with one of the best hardware. Asus claims the new StudioBook S is a workstation aimed for creators.
According to Asus the latest StudioBook S will be direct competitor of latest ThinkPads and Dell Precision lineup machines. Both the aforementioned machines are business-centric workstations, the StudioBook S is aimed for creators who want powerful laptops for movie editing, creating VR effects and developing 3D models. So if you are doing demanding tasks the StudioBook S could be your next workstation.
Under the hood, the StudioBook S is available in two hexa-core configurations. You can either have Intel Core-i7 8750H processor with max clocking at 2.2Ghz or Xeon E-2716M chipset with max clocking at 2.7Ghz. It Turbo boosts up to 4.4Ghz. The hexa-core processor can be accompanied by up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and 4TB NVME storage. For connectivity, you will get three USB 3.1 ports, One Thunderbolt 3, SD card reader and HDMI port.
Last but not least the StudioBook's display is indeed worthy to stand up amongst the crowd. The 17-inches display aspect ratio is 16:10. The best thing is 97% DCI-P3 gamut which reproduces the colors greatly. The company reduces the bezels to fit in a 17-inches display in a 15-inches laptop body but still the Asus's slimmest bezels laptop crown remained for the ZenBook S13. A 57W battery is on board to keep its lights on, however, the company didn't claim any timings.
