Asus is one of those many Android OEMs which are known for taking their time when it comes to updating smartphones. It is the reason even though an update is expected for ZenFones, it is hard to predict exactly which ones will get it. In order to offer some clarity on the situation, Asus has released a list of ZenFone models that it hopes to update with Android Pie this year.
The list was released on official ZenFone forums called ZenTalk by one of the moderators. The list features a total of 16 smartphones including a few of the expected ones. The complete list is mentioned below for you to check if your particular device is included or not:

- ZenFone Live (ZB553KL)
- ZenFone4 Max (ZB520KL)
- ZenFone Max Plus (M1) Clear Soft Bumper (ZB570TL)
- ZenFone 5Q (ZC600KL)
- ZenFone Live (L1) Clear Soft Bumper (ZA550KZ / ZA551KL)
- ZenFone Max Pro (ZB602KL)
- ZenFone Max Pro (ZB601KL)
- ZenFone Max (M1) Clear Soft Bumper (ZB555KL / ZB556KL)
- ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL)
- ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL)
- ASUS ROG Phone (ZS600KL)

From this list, the ZenFone 5Z has already received Android Pie upgrade which happened last month. The ZenFone Pro M2 is another device which on the verge of receiving the update as it is currently under beta testing. As for all the other remaining devices, it cannot be said when exactly update will be made available.
It is also worth noting that this list shows Asus hopes to release Android Pie update for. It means it is not a guaranteed list and Asus can always choose to exclude any of the devices at any time. But as and when it will start beta testing and release the update, we will make sure to keep you informed.
