Asus seems to be preparing for launching two new smartphones named ZenFone Max Shot and ZenFone Max Plus M2. Both these phones have been spotted on the Brazilian telecom regulator Anatel's website. The listings suggest that certification has been awarded and an official announcement should be around the corner.
As per the images posted alongside the Anatel listings, both the phones appear to be having an identical design. But when you will look closely, you will notice that the ZenFone Max Shot has a triple rear camera setup as compared to ZenFone Max Plus M2's dual rear camera setup. The camera module on both phones is vertically-aligned but exact details regarding sensors and what they do are currently unknown. The LED flash has been placed outside the camera module for the Max Shot and it is inside the module for the Plus variant.
There is a traditional fingerprint scanner in the center of the back panel for both phones. It is followed by Asus branding as we have seen in previous ZenFone releases. Other details include 64GB and 32GB internal storage for Max Shot and Max Plus M2 respectively. There are 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB port on both the phones.
All other details about the two phones are missing at the moment but it is safe to assume that Asus will be launching multiple configuration variants. The ZenFone Max Shot appears to be a more expensive offering than the ZenFone Max Plus M2. Since certification has been approved, we should be hearing something via official Asus channels sooner than later.
