At the ongoing Computex 2019 event, Asus has been one of the most active tech companies when it comes to announcing products spreading across different categories. There have been new products which are usually expected but in addition, Asus has also unveiled two special edition devices called ZenFone 6 Edition 30 and ZenBook Edition 30 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Starting with the ZenFone 6 Edition 30, it is a limited edition ZenFone 6 smartphone with a few additional features here and there. One thing that differentiates itself from the standard variant straightaway is the 12GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage. The standard variant offers up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Even though the internal storage should be more than enough, there is support for up to 1TB microSD cards as well. All other specifications remain exactly the same.
Other than this, it has a unique back panel design referred to as "iconic Zen-inspired concentric-circle patterning". There are only 3,000 units of the special edition which means you will have to act fast if you wish to own one of these. Each of these units will also come with a unique Edition 30 logo on the back. There are no words on the pricing yet but it should be quite expensive as compared to standard variants.
As for the ZenBook Edition 30, it is essentially a Windows laptop but with some special features to make it unique. It features white-colored Italian leather on the lid that Asus is calling Pearl White. It is said to be hand-picked genuine leather and "each panel cover is meticulously sewed by a master tailor." It is complemented by an 18-Karat Rose Gold-plated logo on the back. There are few special accessories including a Pear White mouse and a leather sleeve.
In terms of specifications, the ZenBook Edition 30 sports a 13-inch display with 95% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it has the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor coupled with 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU. There is PCIe SSD storage but capacity has not been disclosed yet. The situation remains the same for pricing and availability details.
