Asus ROG Phone 2 launching in July with immersive gaming experience from Tencent Games

07 June 2019 0

Asus ROG Phone 2 has finally received its official launch timeframe and as per the post on Weibo by the company itself, it’s happening in July. A rumor came in early April also speculated the launch to happen in Q3 2019, so it has turned out true. But, the exact date of the launch of this gaming phone is still unknown.

Well, this isn’t the only update on the ROG Phone 2 because a follow-up post by Tencent Games reveals that these both companies are partnering to optimize the mobile gaming device. The post, however, doesn’t mention what kind of optimization the ROG Phone 2 will get. We can only suspect something related to a gaming suite of tools and an “optimizer” to enhance gaming performance. While the details are pretty scant, it’s good to note that one of the biggest Chinese gaming divisions will work on this upcoming phone.

Also, a post from ROG Phone’s official Weibo post stated that ROG and Tencent Games officially signed on June 5th. Note that Tencent Games also signed a similar collaboration deal with Razer back in March. So, we assume whatever optimizations the ROG Phone 2 will get, the Razer Phone 3 could also receive them. However, this is just a guess.

Well, if July is the slated month of the launch of the ROG Phone 2 then we may see many rumors coming our way until then. One such rumor has arrived on Twitter by a tipster Mukul Sharma. According to his post, the device ROG Phone 2 will have a 120GHz display. For comparison, the first-gen ROG phone has a 90Hz display.

Let’s just wait for more details to fill in.
