Asus ZenFone 6, Asus 6Z Android 10 update now rolling out

04 November 2019 0

Asus has become the newest Android OEM to release a stable Android 10 update for at least one of the existing devices. It has started updating the ZenFone 6, known as Asus 6Z in India, to the latest Android version. It is good to see Asus upgrading the device on time instead of delaying it like it has been the case in recent times.

The ZenFone 6 Android 10 update is available in the form of the latest Asus' custom skin iteration i.e. Zen UI 6. It carries the build number 17.1810.1910.63 and is an over the air rollout. It means you should be receiving the update notification as soon as it becomes available for your particular unit.

The update weighs 808.89MB in size which is on the heavier side as far as smartphone updates are concerned. It is advised to connect to WiFi before starting the downloading process. This will help you avoid incurring any unwanted charges if you are on a limited cellular data plan.

As for changes, the look and feel of Zen UI 6 is said to be largely unchanged from the previous version. There are all the major Android 10 features including system-wide Dark mode and full gesture navigation support. There should be a few Zen UI tweaks and under the hood performance improvements as well.

Asus is also busy beta testing Android 10 update for the predecessor ZenFone 5Z. It started a public beta program last month and has already released a few beta builds to selected testers. The exact release date for the stable version is currently unknown but one should expect it to happen sooner than later.

The Asus ZenFone 6 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
