Earlier this month, Instagram lifted its 24 hour limit from its Stories section shortly after it crossed the 300 million users milestone along with WhatsApp. A month after adding a split-screen mode to go live with friends, the online image sharing platform is now fixing the earlier update which only allowed you to invite a friend over for a live story together as a one-way invitation.
The latest update from Instagram enhances your live story experience as now you can request your friend to allow you to be a part of their Instagram live story. The latest feature can be accessed by tapping the request button in the comments section while you’re viewing a friend’s live video.
Once your friend accepts the request, you won’t be awarded much time to get ready for being in their story, so beware to look presentable even before you send a request. The live video then starts with your screen splitted into two while you two hang out at different places entertaining people in your follower's list.
If you’re the one using the live story feature, you’ll be notified of the requests that your friends have sent you to join a live video. When your broadcast is done, click on Share to bring it up in your Stories section or hit Discard if you wish to delete it.
