Earlier this month, Facebook added a new money transfer service which was later expanded to cities in the UK & France. A little over a week after revamping Events as the Facebook Local app, Facebook is bringing an update that enhances the visual experience from within the chat client.

In the past few months, Facebook has streamlined the user experience inside its Messenger app after adding Spotify & Apple Music services to its chat messaging client and bringing new video chat masks & filters. The team is now adding support for high-resolution image sharing from within its messaging service.

What that means is that users can receive and send images at 4K resolution at the same speed you might be sharing your regular pictures. With 17 billion pictures being shared across the world in a month’s time, Facebook claims that the upgrade to 4K might add an extra crisp and richness to pictures to give a better experience.

Updating the Messenger app to the latest version on both Android and iOS will let you access the latest feature if you’re in the US, the UK, France, Australia, Canada, South Korea or Singapore.
