MediaTek Helio P70 appears on AnTuTu, could compete the Snapdragon 670

24 January 2018 3

Earlier this month, we saw the first details about the upcoming Helio P70 chipset. The Taiwanese chipset manufacturer is expected to unveil the new chipset at the MWC 2018 alongside the Helio P40. The chipset has now appeared on AnTuTu benchmark just ahead of the launch, and the scores are well above par.

The Helio P70 scored 156,906 on AnTuTu, which suggests that is in line with the Snapdragon 670 SoC. The Helio P70 is based on a 12nm process, whereas the Snapdragon 670 is based on a 10nm one. The P70 is an octa-core processor rumored to sport four Cortex A73 chips clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2GHz. The processor will run alongside the Mali G72 MP4 (800MHz) graphics unit and Category 13 LTE modem.
