OPPO R15 series official now with 20MP AI selfie camera and Android 8.1

Finally, the wait is over for the Oppo fans, the company launched the R15 and R15 Dream Mirror edition in China. Both the devices are featuring a 6.28-inches OLED panel with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. The device screen-to-body ratio is 90% with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Oppo dubbed the new display as Super-V Display. The Helio's latest Octa-core P20 chipset is powering the R15 whereas the R15 Dream Mirror Edition is running on the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 chipset. Both the devices have 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage.

The primary rear snapper on both the devices is Sony's IMX519 16MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture. To provide better photography experience, the latest R15 devices are featuring AI Intelligent Scene Recognition which allows the camera to recognize more than 16 scenes. The AI camera automatically adjusts settings after recognizing the scene. The secondary snapper on the R15 is 5MP module whereas the secondary sensor on the R15 Dream Mirror Edition is 20MP with f/1.7 aperture. The front-facing selfie camera on both the devices is 20MP with AI beauty tech which scans 296 points of your face to further beautify your selfies. According to Oppo the beauty tech is further enhances, now it works 16% better than the last version.

The normal variant of both the devices features solid aluminum chassis with glass covering the rear side but there is a special edition model of Dream Mirror Edition with the ceramic rear. The fingerprint scanner on both the devices is on the rear below the camera modules. For fast charging, it comes with VOOC flash tech which quickly pops up 2 hours of talk-time battery in just 5 minutes.

As far as availability and color variants are a concern, the R15 will be available in Star Purple, Snow White and Hot Red at a price tag of 2999 Yuan in China which is $473 at the current currency exchange rate. The R15 Dream Mirror Edition variant in the Red color variant can be grabbed for 3299 Yuan ($520). Last but not the least the special Ceramic Edition can be purchased for 3499 Yuan ($552). All the variants are currently up for pre-order in China soon after the announcement with a release from April 1st.
