Like last year MWC, this year HMD global once again launched a wide-range of new products. The company brought entry-level Nokia 1, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6 2018 and the Nokia 7 Plus. From the look of the things, it seems like the company isn't stopping, they are getting ready to announce a new Nokia flagship pretty soon. The Nokia 9 is expected to be company's first true flagship of this year.
It's not the first time we are hearing rumors regarding the Nokia 9, we heard about this device last year as well. Today the Nokia 9 alleged specs sheet appears on Slashleaks which suggests complete details regarding the device internals and camera setup. The device sports a 6.1-inches AMOLED display panel with Quad HD+ screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 18:9 like most of the latest phones. Like the recently announced Nokia's flagship the device ceramic black variant comes with gold finish.
The Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 SoC is powering the device with 8GB RAM and built-in native storage is 256GB. So far we have seen all flagships of this year have one thing in common, all are camera-centric devices. Same is the case with the Nokia 9 as it features three camera sensors on the rear side. The primary snapper is a wide-angle 41MP sensor, the secondary telephoto sensor is 20MP and the third monochrome sensor is 9.7MP. Like the last year's flagship, the Nokia 9 all sensors are ZEISS certified. Up front the selfie snapper is 21MP. A 3,900mAh battery cell is on board to keep the Nokia 9 lights on, it supports Qi Wireless charging. For connectivity, it features USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The device is IP68 certified which means it can resist 1.5 meters deep water for 30 minutes without any damage. The specs sheet didn't reveal the placement of fingerprint scanner, it could be an in-glass scanner as well. HMD global already confirmed all upcoming Nokia phones will be Android One devices which means we can expect Android Oreo 8.1 straight out of the box. The way, the iPhone X notch design was copied by many Android phones too, the same way the triple cameras are now starting to be.
And the humongous 8GB RAM too!
Exactly. That makes such phones more than high-end.
Triple cameras instantly reminded me of the Huawei P20 Pro. It's kind of a benchmark they set quite high.
