Last year Apple announced their 10th anniversary iPhone X with a notch design. At that time it was indeed one of the most criticized aspects of the device but later on, we have seen many Android smartphone manufacturers adopted this trend and now we have plenty of smartphones in the market with a notch at the top including the latest P20 series.
Recently the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau stated the upcoming OnePlus 6 design as "Honest" which means it isn't inspired by any other device in the market. The CEO also confirmed the glass rear body which means there are fair chances of wireless charging support. Today the company official Weibo account releases a new image of OnePlus 6. The company also claims the device features a "transparent" texture. From the look of the things, the device looks quite striking with the awesome finish and rounded corners.
OnePlus stated they are aware of the fact that OnePlus 6 is not the first smartphone with glass rear body but the finish on the OnePlus 6 will make it stand out amongst the competition. The one plus main aim is to enhance the device premium feel with the glass rear as opposed to unibody metal design. OnePlus also stated their design team tried 70 different items before finalizing this design language.
The company claims they are the first in the market to use nanotechnology to print five different layers on the rear side. From what we know so far the OnePlus 6 will be featuring a 6.28-inches display with Full HD+ screen resolution. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 SoC is powering the device with up to 8GB RAM and built-in native storage up to 256GB. As OS the device will be pre-installed with Android Oreo 8.1 straight out of the box. A 3,450mAh battery cell will keep the OnePlus 6 lights on.
