Samsung recently rolled out the invites to confirm the aforementioned launch date. The Galaxy Note 9 will be announced earlier than the last year's Galaxy Note series smartphone. Usually, Samsung unveils new Galaxy Note smartphone by the end of August ahead of IFA event, this year Samsung is going to announce new Galaxy Note few weeks ahead of usual schedule.

Samsung's Galaxy Note lineup smartphones are always special as they are best premium smartphones in the second half of the year. The new Galaxy Note smartphones are packed with a larger display, feature-rich S Pen, powerful hardware, stylish design and much more.

The new Galaxy Note 9 is rumored to have improved S Pen, Bixby 2.0, larger display, better cameras and much more. The Galaxy Note 9 will have to face stiff competition from upcoming LG, Apple, Sony and Huawei premium smartphones. Like always ahead of official unveiling, we have tons of new leaks and rumors regarding the Galaxy Note 9. Today we will round up all the important leaks and rumors we heard so far regarding the next big smartphone from Samsung. Surprisingly ahead of official unveiling Samsung France put a support page for an upcoming smartphone bearing model number SM-N960F/DS. Without any further delay, let's start with the release and pricing details.

Release and Pricing

A few weeks ago Samsung released invite for the next Unpacked event on August 9. Samsung holds two unpacked events every year to launch Galaxy S-series and Galaxy Note lineup flagship smartphones. If you are excited about the so far leaks regarding the upcoming Galaxy Note 9, you can reserve smartphone from Samsung's official website and also you can avail trade-in offer as well.

So far it is still in dark, how much the Galaxy Note 9 will cost. However, this doesn't mean we don't have any leak regarding the pricing. Recently the Galaxy Note 9 listing on an Indonesian website appeared online which reveals the Galaxy Note 9 base variant with 128GB storage will cost $935 whereas the top of the line model with 512GB storage costs $1,210. The listing further confirms the arrival of three colors of Galaxy Note 9 including Pink, Blue, and black variants.

According to South Korean media, the Galaxy Note 9 base variant will cost $980 whereas the top of the line model to cost $1,210. So we can expect the Galaxy Note 9 to cost somewhere between $950 and $1,000.

This year instead of bringing a completely revamped smartphone Samsung stick to same design language for the Galaxy Note 9 what we have seen earlier this year with Galaxy S9 smartphones. However, the major changes are under the hood.

Recently a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 official ad accidentally appeared online which showcases the device in motion. It seems like the ad was meant to be showcased at the launch event, however, it confirms we shouldn't expect major changes as far as design is a concern.

The above image is so far the clearest image of the Galaxy Note 9 which confirms it isn't much different from the predecessor. The image also showcases the Galaxy Notre 9's new S Pen in new Yellow color. Undoubtedly the S Pen had a new makeover. Like its predecessor, it has the USB-C port for connectivity and charging. It retains the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.

Apart from the leaked official ad, we have leaked renders as well. A recently leaked render showcases the Galaxy Note 9 doesn't bring anything different in design as far as the front-facing side is a concern. The on-screen buttons, camera, earpiece and other sensors remain similar like the Galaxy Note 8.

The well-known reliable tipster @OnLeaks recently shared beautiful CAD renders of Galaxy Note 9 to confirm the design. The renders suggest the Galaxy Note 9 is featuring a glass and metal sandwich design like the predecessor. On the rear side, you will get dual cameras and fingerprint scanner. All leaks so far showcase rear fingerprint scanner, so the in-glass scanner is definitely not coming.

The fingerprint scanner is now shifted below the dual cameras like the Galaxy S9 Plus. The dual cameras are repositioned once again. The Galaxy S9+ dual rear cameras are placed vertically, however, the Galaxy Note 9 dual sensors are placed side by side. Like its predecessors, the Note 9 also has bottom firing speakers. The volume and power buttons are on the right edge whereas the dedicated Bixby button is on the right edge.

The device will be an IP68 certified device like all the latest premium smartphones from Samsung. The Galaxy Note 9 dimensions are 161.9 x 76.3 x 8.8mm whereas the Galaxy Note 8 measurements are 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm. This means the Galaxy Note 9 is slightly less tall but wider and thicker than the predecessor.

Being a Galaxy Note lineup smartphone, you should expect it to have a fairly large display panel. Undoubtedly Samsung Galaxy Note series is a pioneer in changing the perception regarding large display phablets. Since the removal of thick bezels, the Galaxy Note smartphones doesn't look gigantic at all because almost all companies have at least one variant with a display above 6-inches.

Before the bezel-less era the Galaxy Note lineup smartphones have usually 5.7-inches display, last year Samsung took a big jump by introducing Galaxy Note 8 with 6.3-inches display. The display wasn't much larger than Galaxy S8+. From the look of the things this year once again the Galaxy Note 9 will have a 6.3-inches display like its predecessor.

The Super AMOLED display panel aspect ratio will remain 18.5:9. The display screen resolution will also be Quad HD+ like the predecessor.

New Improved S Pen

From past few weeks, we have been hearing rumors regarding an improved S Pen. On paper, the Galaxy Note 9 isn't much different from the Galaxy S9+ as far as specs are a concern. The S-Pen is certainly the main aspect which differentiates the Note lineup from regular Galaxy S-series. The Galaxy Note 9's invite features S Pen which confirms certainly it will be an important topic at the launch.

Recently the well-known tipster Ice Universe claimed that new S Pen will be Bluetooth enabled which allows it to perform a number of new tasks as well. A recent FCC listing also suggests the new S Pen will have Bluetooth connectivity.

However, it is still in dark from where the S Pen will get power. The current-gen S Pen uses the display power, now the S-Pen could have its own battery cell. The pressure sensitivity will also be improved. We can expect more details regarding the new S Pen at the launch event.

Recently a retail box of Galaxy Note 9 appeared online which reveals few key details regarding the specs sheet. As per retail box, the device is featuring a 6.3-inches Super AMOLED display with Quad HD+ screen resolution. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845/ Exynos 9810 is powering the device with 6GB RAM. The dual rear cameras are 12MP modules. Apart from regular fingerprint scanner, the device has an iris scanner as well.

The tipster Ice Universe and Eldar Murtazin stated the Galaxy Note 9 will be powered up by a 4,000mAh battery cell. The leaked box also confirmed the 4,000mAh battery cell. This is certainly a big improvement over the 3,300mAh battery cell of Galaxy Note 8.

A recent official teaser also confirms the Galaxy Note 9's battery life is much improved and it lasts much longer. The new teaser's caption is "Battery can’t keep up? A lot can change in a day". Certainly, Samsung is going to highlight this aspect as one of a key-selling aspect of Galaxy Note 9.

With the Galaxy S9, Samsung introduced Dolby Atmos tuned audio, we can expect same for the Galaxy Note 9 as well. The device will be shipped with AKG headphones straight out of the box.

The Galaxy Note 9 will be pre-installed with Android Oreo with TouchWiz UI layer over it. Back at the MWC 2018, Samsung CEO DJ Koh officially confirmed that improved version of Bixby 2.0 AI Assistant will be announced later in 2018 alongside the Galaxy Note 9. So we can expect a number of new AI features initially exclusive for the Galaxy Note 9.

Samsung's AI center head recently stated the improved version of Bixby brings better natural language processing, fast performance, and better capability to handle noise during the conversation. The company wants to enhance the Bixby scope in other products of Samsung Home Ecosystem too.

For instance, we have been hearing that Samsung could launch smart TV with Bixby, a smart speaker with Bixby support and many other products in coming months. With the Galaxy S9 lineup, Samsung introduced AR Emoji, it will be coming to Note series as well.

The Galaxy Note 8 was the first flagship smartphone from Samsung with dual rear cameras. This year once again Samsung will opt dual rear cameras for the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. From what we heard so far the Galaxy Note 9 has a wide-angle 12MP sensor with a variable aperture between f/1.5 to f/2.4. The secondary sensor is a 12MP telephoto module with f/2.4 aperture. Both the sensors have optical image stabilization.

At the moment it is still in the dark whether the selfie camera sensor will see any update in terms of resolution or not. However, we can expect it to have enhancements in processing. The camera sensors are undoubtedly one of the key selling aspects of a smartphone, same is the case with the Galaxy Note 9. So you can expect top-notch cameras.
