The South Korean giant Samsung recently announced the much-awaited flagship Galaxy Note 9. Being the latest flagship phablet from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 9 achieved much attention not only before the official unveiling but also after the announcement. As expected the Galaxy Note 9 didn't surprise because most of the details regarding it were already leaked. This year once again Samsung pushed the Galaxy Note announcement to make sure it attain much limelight ahead of Cupertino's flagships.

The Galaxy Note 9 is currently the latest best offering from Samsung in the flagships lineup. Being the latest flagship smartphone the Galaxy Note 9 will challenge all the existing big players. Like always whenever a new smartphone is announced we put it in comparison to the predecessor as well other competitors. We already compared the Galaxy Note 9 against the Galaxy Note 8 as well as OnePlus 6. Today we will put the Galaxy Note 8 against the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s.

The Mi Mix 2s is the Xiaomi's latest offering in the complete bezel-less design smartphone. Back in 2016, Xiaomi surprised everyone by announcing the Mi Mix with ultra-thin bezels. The device was so successful that it prompted all big giants to announce at least one bezel-less smartphone in 2017 and it is pretty much norm this year. Let's find out how the latest premium smartphone from Samsung stacks up against the bezel-less Xiaomi's flagship. Without any further delay, let's start with the design.

As expected the Galaxy Note 9 isn't bringing a significant change in the design department from the predecessor. The front-facing design of Galaxy Note 9 isn't different from the predecessor. Up front, you will get a full front-facing display with dual curved edges. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 9 has on-screen navigation buttons. The first visual change is on the rear side. Once again you will get dual rear cameras in the center, however, the fingerprint scanner is below the dual cameras.

The Galaxy Note 9 dimensions are 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm and weigh 201g. The Galaxy Note 9 chassis is made up of metal with glass covering the front and rear side. It's an IP68 certified device which means it can resist under 1.5 meters deep water for 30 minutes without any damage. For connectivity, it has USB-C port as well as 3.5mm headphone jack.

The good thing is despite the fact the Mi Mix 2s is the third iteration from Xiaomi, still, the overall feel isn't different from the first-gen. The Mi Mix 2s is featuring 7000-series aluminum chassis with a ceramic covering the rear side. To ensure the device can be easily grabbed, its edges are gently curved.

Once again the key-selling aspect of Mi Mix 2s is its tri bezel-less design and the only significant bezel is on the bottom edge. Still, the Mi Mix 2s screen-to-body ratio is higher than most of the latest bezel-less smartphones. The front-facing sensors and earpiece are embedded under the glass with special technology.

The Mi Mix 2s measurements are 150.9 x 74.9 x 8.1 mm and weigh 191g. Like its predecessor once again the selfie camera is on the bottom edge. So if you want to take selfies, you have to rotate your device. The Mi Mix 2s is the first smartphone of the lineup with dual cameras. The dual sensors are placed vertically on the top left corner with LED flashlight between the sensors. The fingerprint scanner is on the rear side in the center below the sensors. Unlike the Galaxy Note 9, it lacks water and dust resistance capabilities.

In the display department, the Galaxy Note 9 is the largest Note device ever announced by Samsung. The device is featuring a 6.4-inches display panel with Quad HD+ screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. Like always, its a Super AMOLED display panel with great brightness, higher contrast ratio, and deep blacks. The display aspect ratio is 18.5:9 and the pixels density is 516 pixels-per-inch.

On the other hand, the Mi Mix 2s is featuring a 5.99-inches display panel with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It's an LCD display panel with a 2:1 aspect ratio. The display pixels density is 403 pixels-per-inch.

The Galaxy Note 9 easily outclasses its competitor in the display section not only because of the better panel but also because of a larger display with better resolution and pixels density.

Being the flagships devices, both are packed with the latest best possible hardware. The Galaxy Note 9 US variant has the Snapdragon 845 chipset whereas the rest of the world will get Exynos 9810 powered model.
