Google seems to be working on another tablet already and a Pixel Slate successor with an Intel processor is in works. According to a leaked Geekbench listing, the mysterious new device is called “Rammus” and makes its presence felt even before the Pixel Slate went on sale.
As per the leaked specification, Google Rammus packs an Intel Core M3-8100Y processor and has an equally cryptic motherboard named “Shyvana”. Though Geekbench seems to have not been able to identify the Chrome operating system correctly as it mentions Android 7.1.1. In case of the Pixel Slate was shown as running on Android 9 Pie.
Only other specification that we can get from this leak that the device may have 4GB of RAM and the fact that the processor is a dual-core SoC.
It is slightly surprising to see Google preparing a successor to the Pixel Slate so early. Some reports suggest that Google may have tested this device earlier and may have shelved it as well or it could be some sort of a smart speaker. Few reports even suggest that it could be a stripped down variant of the costlier Pixel Slate which comes in Core i5 and i7 configurations.
In any case, we will have to just wait for more information to come in as it is way too early to comment on this device.
