08 December 2018
Finally, the wait is over for the Lenovo fans as the company VP officially confirms the arrival of Z5s on Weibo. He posted a teaser and confirms launch is on December 6 in China. The device is quite special as it is widely rumored as the company's first phone with under-glass selfie camera pretty much similar like Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A8s and Huawei Nova 4. Huawei recently confirmed the launch of Nova 4 on December 17 whereas Samsung will be launching the Galaxy A8s on December 10th. Now Leono jumps in with a launch on December 6.
At the moment we can't confirm whether the Z5s will indeed be the first phone with under display camera or not because we also heard rumors regarding waterdrop notch. Another important aspect is Lenovo Z5s's teaser hints the device has camera cutout in the center whereas both Huawei and Samsung phones have cut out of the under-display camera on the top left corner. Considering Lenovo, Huawei and Samsung are all gearing to announce a notch-free smartphone with a camera cut out the chances are high it will be the next design trend during 2019.
From what we heard so far the Lenovo Z5s is rumored to have a 6.3-inches display panel with Full HD+ screen resolution. The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 chipset is rumored to be powering the device. The device is expected with triple rear cameras. A 3,210mAH battery is on board to keep its lights on. As OS the device may come with Android Oreo 8.1 with ZUI 10 skin over it.
