Honor View 20 could launch with in-display selfie camera on January 22

05 December 2018 2

The notch was just transitional, everyone knew it and however, just waited for a practical solution to place a camera at the front avoiding the notch. Looks like the in-Display selfie camera is the perfect and practical solution to this. A few days back, Huawei, Samsung, and Lenovo were racing to announce the world’s first such phone and now we have Lenovo Z5s launching tomorrow, Samsung A8s is set to launch on December 10. It is ironic that Huawei was the first one to announce the launch date for Nova 4 as December 17, is the last of three such devices to come out this month.

Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, has also announced that it is going to launch a new device on January 22 in Paris, France. The teaser shared on social media by Honor’s PR manager shows the Eiffel tower and a strategically placed moon. The placement of the moon on the display of the upcoming Honor phone suggests the presence of an in-display selfie camera.

The most interesting part here is that all the three other phones i.e. Lenovo Z5s, Samsung A8s and Huawei Nova 4 are going to launch in China and global availability may take time, while Honor is launching the phone internationally in Europe.

Grapevine suggests that the upcoming phone from Honor with in-display selfie camera could be Honor View 20, the successor of Honor View 10 which was released earlier this year. The Honor View 20 is expected to house the latest Kirin 980 SoC, a large bezel-less display, gradient color design and impressive cameras in the tow.

While we get more detail about the upcoming phone, do let us know what do you think about in-display selfie camera?
