Google is allegedly going to release budget variants of its flagship smartphones released earlier this year. These phones were earlier reported to be targeted for emerging markets like India where OnePlus has got a lot of success. The leaked images of Pixel 3 Lite some time back by a Russian blog confirmed the existence of the phone.
It was earlier reported that there is only one such phone in the works, however, recent leaks revealed that Google is working on the lite version of both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The leaked design also suggest that none of the phones will feature a notch, unlike the one present on Pixel 3 XL which wasn’t one of the most liked designs of the year. As per the latest reports, both these phones may come as early as April or May 2019 on US carrier Verizon.
Talking about the design, both the Pixel 3 Lite and 3XL Lite may come with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Pixel 3 Lite may be smaller of the two at 5.5-inches in size while the Pixel 3 XL Lite could be a 6-inch device. The Pixel 3 Lite could be powered by a Snapdragon 670 while the Pixel 3 XL Lite may be powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset.
Other specifications of Pixel 3 Lite may include a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie sensor, 2,915 mAh battery, 32GB of internal storage and Android 9 Pie out of the box. While the Pixel 3 XL Lite may come with a bigger battery and larger storage space.
It is also reported that these Lite version Pixel phones may be priced in a range of USD400 - USD500. Let us know what are your thoughts about these devices?
