Nokia 9 PureView global launch inching closer; India launch next month: Reports

Almost every week we get to hear some news around the launch dates of Nokia 9 PureView. At times these reports are contradictory and at times they support the previous ones. The last we heard was that the phone may launch at MWC this year now we are getting reports that the phone may be announced globally in Dubai soon followed by a launch in India.

According to Nokia’s distribution channels, the one of its kind Penta-cam powered smartphone Nokia 9 PureView’s global unveiling may happen sometime later this month in Dubai. This report has been confirmed by sources familiar with HMD plans, claims 91Mobiles.

Further, there is a report that the phone may then be launched next in India in the month of February along with a couple of other Nokia phones. The camera setup of Nokia 9 PureView is said to be capable of clicking 5 simultaneous shots offering better low light images.


A quick recap of Nokia 9 PureView’s specifications suggests that the phone may come with a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ display with HDR10, a ZEISS branded Penta camera setup, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, Android 9 Pie out of the box, in-display fingerprint sensor, a water, and dust-resistant body, along with a 4,150mAh battery pack to power the phone.

The phone, which is said to be Nokia’s costliest phone yet with a rumored retail price of Rs. 60,000 or USD 845 in India along with top of the line specifications, could place Nokia in the elite list of top smartphone brands with a true flagship smartphone.
