Google Pixel 3 XL’s design was nothing to write home about. It attracted a lot of flak from users and media likewise, thanks to the uninspiring design and an ugly notch. Even the Pixel 3 which didn’t have a notched display but had thick bezels at the front, above and below the display.
It seems now Google apart from making a foldable display phone is also working on a full display bezel-less device, at least that’s what the latest patent which Google has been recently awarded, suggests. The patent for a zero bezel mobile from Google appeared on World Intellectual Property Organization’s website and it includes a smartphone design with a bezel-less display at the front.
The sketches uploaded on the patent website suggest that this phone if at all it gets launched, may not have a ‘chin’ or the bottom bezel commonly found in almost all Android smartphones looking to go full display. While on the rear the device looks almost identical to the current generation Pixel devices with a dual-toned back design.
Apart from the all display design, it looks like this smartphone from Google will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Google may still continue with a single rear camera unlike most of the other flagships available in the market which come with dual or triple camera setup.
Apart from these design cues, we cannot get any more information from this patent listing. Also, since it’s just a patent at this point in time, there is absolutely no guarantee that Google may unveil such a phone. Though this does raise our expectations from Google Pixel 4.
What do you think? Will the Google Pixel 4 come with a gorgeous bezel-less design?
