The Chinese giant Xiaomi recently rolled out invites for the MWC 2019 event on February 24th. As expected the company didn't confirm which smartphones will be unveiled at the event but all rumors indicate the 5G variant of flagship Mi MIX 3 will be one of them.
We also even heard rumors the company could unveil their first flagship of this year AKA Mi 9 at the event. The chances are high but nothing is set in stone as the company yet to confirm whether they are gearing to announce Mi 9 or not. Thanks to continuous leaks and rumors the Mi 9 is in limelight ahead of the official announcement.
Today the first renders of Mi 9 appeared online based on the rumors and leaks. The new renders showcase the device from all angles. On the front facing side, the bezels around the display are ultra-thin, the waterdrop notch is at the top but it is placed quite neatly.
The waterdrop notch on the Redmi Note 7 is quite prominent but that's not the case with the Mi 9. The display aspect ratio seems even higher than most of the latest waterdrop notch phones. The bottom bezel is almost negligible.
It lacks the traditional fingerprint scanner on the rear which means it will also have under-glass fingerprint scanner like its predecessor. The chassis is made up of aluminum with glass covering the rear side. On the rear side, you will get triple rear cameras aligned vertically on the top left corner. The first setup comprised of dual sensors separated with a flashlight whereas the third sensor is placed separately below the dual cameras module.
The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 48MP primary rear sensor. The chances are high the Mi 9 will also have a 48MP sensor on the rear. Under the hood, it will be running on the Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. Apart from the flagship model the company is also working on the SE variant of Mi 9 as a successor model of MI 8 SE.
