Xperia 1 goes official as the Sony's first triple cameras phone with 4K OLED display

Finally, the wait is over as the Japanese giant Sony took the stage to announce the latest flagship Xperia 1. The Xperia 1 is the successor variant of Xperia XZ2 Premium. The Xperia 1 is bringing a number of new features which are one of its kind on any Sony phone. It comes with 4K OLED display and the display aspect ratio is 21:9. Yes, what we were hearing in rumors was 100% accurate, Sony opted an ultra taller aspect ratio. On the rear side, the Xperia 1 has triple cameras setup.

The Xperia 1 is featuring a CinemaWide display of 6.5-inches. The 4K HDR display screen resolution is 1644 x 3840 pixels. The best thing is Xperia 1 will be a great media-centric phone as Amazon and Netflix support 21:9 HDR content. To further enhance your media watching experience, the Xperia 1 comes with Dolby Atmos audio with stereo speakers. Both earpiece and bottom speaker produces audio for a superb experience.

Following the latest trend, the Xperia 1 comes with triple cameras on the rear side. The primary sensor is a wide-angle 26mm sensor with f/1.6 aperture, it comes with optical and electronic image stabilization. It also has Dual pixel autofocus. The secondary sensor is ultra-wide 16mm sensor whereas the third sensor is a 52mm telephoto lens with OIS and optical zoom up to 2x. It is not only the first triple cameras setup on the Sony phone but certainly the best on any Sony phone so far. Up front the selfie snapper is 8MP.

The Xperia 1 comes with dedicated Cinema Pro app which allows the user to capture videos at 24 frames per second. Being the latest flagship phone the Xperia 1 is running on the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC with 6GB RAM. The base model has 64GB storage whereas the top-tier model comes with 128GB storage. Both the variants support memory expansion up to 512GB using MicroSD.

Like most of the latest premium phones, it comes with Game Enhancer mode which optimizes the performance and also manages the battery life. This mode also allows you to record gameplay with your commentary. A new pair shortcut feature is introduced to split the two apps on the display screen. A 3,300mAH battery is on board to keep its lights on. To enhance the battery life it comes with Smart Stamina mode and also Battery care feature which makes sure the device recharges slowly overnight.

The device is an IP68 certified device which provides resistance against water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes without any damage. The chassis is made up of metal with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protecting the front and rear glass. It has dedicated fingerprint scanner button on the right edge alongside the power button.

The Xperia 1 will be available in late Spring in Purple, Black, Grey and White colors. However, the price tag and the release date is still in the dark. Stay tuned for more MWC news.
