Vivo S1 debuts with 24.8MP pop-up selfie camera and triple rear cameras in China

Back on March 20th, the Chinese giant Vivo unveiled two new upper mid-range phones X27 and X27 Pro with pop-up selfie camera. Apart from these two phones, the company was rumored to launch the first smartphone under new S-lineup. Today the Vivo China listed the S1 on the official website. The device is currently up for registrations with a release from April 1st.

In terms of specs, the Vivo S1 is featuring a 6.53-inches IPS LCD display with Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and the screen-to-body ratio is 90.95%. The S1 model number is Vivo 1831A/T.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset is powering the phone with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It supports memory expansion via MicroSD. As OS the device is pre-installed with Android Pie based FunTouch OS 9 straight out of the box. The device dimensions are 161.97 x 75.93 x 8.54mm and weigh 189.5g. It comes with a dedicated button to access the Jovi AI Assistant. Following the latest trend it comes, Game Turbo feature to utilize the device prowess during intense Game Play. A 3,940mAh battery is on board to keep its lights on. It comes with an 18W fast charger.

Like the X27 series, the S1 comes with pop-up selfie snapper of 24.8MP. On the rear side, you will get triple cameras, the primary sensor is a 12MP module with f/1.7 aperture, the secondary sensor is a wide-angle 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a depth-sensing 5MP module with f/2.4 aperture. All the sensors are AI tuned to enhance your capturing experience.

The fingerprint scanner is on the rear side in the center. For connectivity, it comes with 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro-USB port. Overall the Vivo S1 isn't much different than the V15, it looks like a rebranded model of V15 with few minor changes in hardware. The S1 will hit the stores on April 1 at a price tag of 2,298 Yuan in Pink and Ice Lake Blue colors.
